About the job

Builds firmware test automation frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure to continuously test firmware on real photonic hardware.

What you'll do

  • Own and develop firmware test automation frameworks, HIL infrastructure, and CI/CD integration across products and teams.
  • Define test strategy and reporting, and build results, telemetry, and log pipelines for triage and release decisions.
  • Debug failures across firmware, boards, instruments, fixtures, and test code; influence testability and diagnostics through design reviews.

What they ask for

  • Extensive hardware-level automation experience with embedded systems, bench setups, and physical devices amid frequent hardware revisions.
  • 8+ years of professional software development, primarily on embedded products, including designing test frameworks and infrastructure.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Architected and built at least one automation framework or HIL system from scratch, adopted by engineers and used daily; strong Python, embedded C/C++, and experience owning CI/CD tests on physical hardware.

Nice to have

  • Experience with optical transceivers, photonic systems, precision analog/mixed-signal hardware, or optical and electrical test equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMIS, OpenBMC, DMTF/Redfish, Pytest, Zephyr or FreeRTOS tools; thoughtful use of AI-assisted tools.
