About the job

Leads thermo-mechanical analysis and validation of advanced photonics packaging to improve product design, assembly, yield, and reliability for AI systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate finite-element and multiphysics models for photonic packaging, including stress, warpage, solder behavior, and thermal-structural performance.
  • Identify reliability risks and guide design, material, and process solutions through analysis, prototyping, and vendor experiments.
  • Build Python and MATLAB automation workflows; document and communicate technical findings and recommendations.

What they ask for

  • MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Deep expertise in finite element analysis using commercial tools such as Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on multiphysics simulation experience, including thermal-structural coupling, solder joint fatigue modeling, and warpage analysis.
  • Experience with semiconductor packaging failure modes, wafer-level and unit-level assembly processes, and proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.

Nice to have

  • Experience with photonic packaging technologies and optical packaging reliability.
  • Experience with DOE and JMP.
