What you'll do

  • Design, prototype, assemble, debug, and iterate on mechanical and electromechanical components, workcells, and instrumentation.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, motion systems, and control hardware; create CAD models, drawings, fixtures, and test setups.
  • Test and document hardware, communicate design changes, and collaborate with engineers and scientists to improve system reliability and usability.

What they ask for

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD design, prototyping, fabrication, or hands-on engineering projects.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical or electrical systems, sensors, actuators, or controls.
  • Able to build, test, debug, and document physical systems; strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SolidWorks or another parametric CAD tool; exposure to wiring, instrumentation, controls, or data acquisition systems.
  • Experience or familiarity with robotics, lab or industrial automation, motion systems, or rapid prototyping methods.
