About the job

Leads system-level reliability for home energy products, from hardware design and qualification testing through field deployment and failure investigation.

What you'll do

  • Set reliability strategy, requirements, qualification and accelerated-life test plans, and drive DFMEA and design-for-reliability activities.
  • Lead root-cause investigations of power electronics and PCBA failures, validate containment and countermeasures, and apply failure-analysis techniques.
  • Track field reliability, use Weibull and lifetime modeling to project performance, and communicate risks for product release readiness.

What they ask for

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Experience with accelerated life testing models and governing equations, applied reliability statistics (e.g., Weibull analysis), and risk analysis.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional root-cause investigations in a fast-moving hardware company.
  • Working knowledge of failure-analysis techniques including optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning, and EDX.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with PCBA reliability best design practices and failure physics in PCBAs and common power electronics components.
  • Working knowledge of the theory of operation of common power converter topologies.

Pay

$165,000 - $220,000 USD (base salary)
