Leads avionics design-for-manufacturing, assembly, and test standards and R&D so electronics, harnesses, and avionics boxes can be produced, tested, installed, and maintained efficiently and reliably.
What you'll do
- Write and maintain the Avionics DFMA guide, standards, sign-off criteria, and program metrics; train engineers to apply them.
- Guide early design reviews, virtual assembly studies, value engineering, supplier trade studies, and manufacturing readiness.
- Lead R&D, manufacturing trials, supplier assessments, and root-cause analysis for avionics manufacturing issues.

- 8+ years in avionics, PCBA or harness manufacturing or design engineering, including taking hardware from design into production at rate in aerospace, defense, automotive or consumer electronics.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620; experience with SMT processes, box build and electrical test.
- Track record writing design standards, guides, or process specs; skilled in 3D CAD and comfortable in ECAD tools.

- MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of automotive connector standards and MIL-spec connectors; other preferred qualifications include high-volume production, DFMEA/PFMEA, and formal DFMA methods.

$140,000 — $180,000 USD (base salary)
