What you'll do
- Track mass, center of gravity, and inertia across configurations; manage subsystem mass budgets and report trends and closure risk.
- Maintain vehicle performance baselines, budgets, margins, and assumptions across aerodynamics, propulsion, power, range, endurance, and payload.
- Reconcile predictions with CAD, actual hardware, and test data; support design trades and automate reporting with MDAO engineers.
What they ask for
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in vehicle performance, mass properties, vehicle design, flight dynamics, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
- Dedicated mass properties experience on at least one complex aerospace vehicle program, including weight tracking, CG/inertia accounting, or mass budget management.
- Experience with configuration-controlled mass property records, multi-team mass budgets, vehicle-level design-trade impacts, and a technical computing language such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
Nice to have
