About the job
Supports the Driller with safe drill-rig operations, mineral-exploration drilling, core handling, equipment maintenance, and daily recordkeeping at an open-pit copper mine.
What you'll do
- Help set up, move, and tear down the rig and drill pad; handle rods, core barrels, casing, and tooling.
- Recover, clean, measure, label, and box core; manage drilling fluids and maintain water systems.
- Perform inspections and basic maintenance, keep records and inventory, and report changing ground conditions or safety concerns.
What they ask for
- Experience as a driller’s helper, offsider, or rig hand, or comparable hands-on field, construction, or mechanical work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn drilling techniques and equipment.
- Commitment to safety and following procedures.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice to have
- Diamond core, reverse circulation (RC), or water-well drilling experience.
