About the job

Build and deploy embedded Linux and Android software for reliable camera and sensor recording on robotics data-capture hardware.

What you'll do

  • Develop and debug embedded software on capture hardware, from board bring-up through deployment.
  • Build reliable services and data paths that preserve recordings during long sessions and interruptions.
  • Measure system performance, power and resource use; reproduce field failures and validate fixes across device configurations.

What they ask for

  • Strong C or C++ skills and proficiency in Python or shell scripting.
  • Understanding of Linux or Android system internals and system-level debugging.
  • Hands-on software development and troubleshooting on ARM or comparable embedded hardware.
  • Ability to profile resources and reason about concurrency, timing, data integrity, recovery, reproducible releases, and realistic hardware testing.

Nice to have

  • Experience with V4L2, GStreamer, camera ISPs, AOSP, Android HALs, Yocto, Buildroot, signed updates, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Pay

CA$150K – CA$170K (base salary)
