About the job

Leads evaluation and development of tactile gloves, taking them from prototypes through validation and production for large-scale robotics data collection.

What you'll do

  • Define product requirements, milestones, calibration methods, and tests for glove performance and data quality.
  • Evaluate commercial gloves and sensors, guide in-house prototypes, and make hardware and system architecture tradeoffs.
  • Lead suppliers, manufacturing readiness, validation, and pilot wear testing through production.

What they ask for

  • Personally taken a wearable, sensor-based, or similarly complex hardware product from prototypes through validation and production.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in sensing, electronics, mechanical engineering, or wearable design.
  • Experience characterizing tactile, force, pressure, or comparable sensors and measuring performance and calibration.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on design for manufacturing and test, tooling, production quality, and cost.

Nice to have

  • Experience with tactile gloves, haptics, flexible circuits, textiles, or other hand-worn hardware.
  • Experience scaling production calibration or collecting synchronized sensor data for robotics and machine learning.
