AI Research Scientist, Language - Generative AI

What you'll do

• Lead, collaborate on, and execute research advancing large language models; design experiments, write reusable code, run evaluations, and organize results.
• Contribute to publications and open-source work, and help set research goals and milestones.
• Mentor team members and support cross-functional collaboration and research applicable to Meta products.

What they ask for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience; PhD in AI, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in an industry, faculty, or government researcher position, including 2+ years in a university, industry, or government lab with primary emphasis on AI research.
• Direct generative AI and LLM research experience, software experience with large AI models and datasets, and Python development and debugging experience.
• Publications in machine learning, including first-author publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences; must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.

$154,000/year to $217,000/year (base salary)
