Research Scientist Intern, AI Infra (PhD)

What you'll do

• Develop optimization agents, GPU kernel agents, trace analyzers, and profilers for recommendation training and inference.
• Design reproducible benchmarks that measure performance and resource use while preserving model quality.
• Collaborate on research prototypes and communicate findings through reports, tools, and publications where appropriate.

What they ask for

• Currently has or is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a relevant technical field.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
• Programming experience in Python, C++, or another related language; experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar deep learning frameworks.
• Research or project experience in at least one of machine learning systems, performance optimization, GPU computing, distributed systems, or AI agents; intent to return to the degree program after the internship.

Nice to have

• Research achievements such as publications, grants, fellowships, patents, or open-source contributions in machine learning or systems.
• Experience with LLM or coding agents, CUDA or Triton, profiling tools, distributed training or serving, or recommendation systems.

Pay

$7,650/month to $12,667/month (base salary)
