Own and evolve Metriport’s data platform, leading its architecture and delivery to reliably process and serve growing volumes of clinical data.
What you'll do
- Set technical direction for the data platform, including warehouse, lake, ETL/ELT, batch and streaming architecture.
- Drive data projects from design through delivery, supporting AI/ML data needs and improving reliability, quality, and governance.
- Mentor engineers and eventually lead a team, owning planning, execution, and delivery while remaining hands-on.

- 8+ years of engineering experience, including building, operating, and scaling data platforms handling terabytes and millions to billions of events daily.
- End-to-end data architecture experience across ingestion, storage, processing, warehousing, and serving, with ownership of key tradeoffs.
- Deep experience with modern cloud-native data stacks and strong software engineering skills; able to write production code.
- Experience mentoring or guiding engineers; located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco / Bay Area.

- Experience leading engineers or supporting ML/data science workflows.
