What you'll do

  • Develop A-surface parts and manage assembly fit, tolerances, cosmetic specifications, and manufacturability.
  • Drive molding design and production tooling with tool shops, molders, and contract manufacturers, including sampling and corrective actions.
  • Build prototypes and validate parts through drop, structural, and environmental testing.

What they ask for

  • 5+ years designing injection-molded plastic parts for high-volume consumer, automotive, or robotics products, taking parts from CAD through production tooling.
  • Hands-on polymer materials science knowledge, including resin families, fillers, additives, anisotropy, and moisture sensitivity.
  • Fluency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO GPS) and tolerance analysis, including worst-case and statistical stack-ups.
  • Experience owning cosmetic A-surface parts and defending appearance standards with vendors.

Nice to have

  • Strong surfacing skills in SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, or similar.
  • Comfort reading mold flow results and tool drawings.
