About the job
Build and manage Mistral AI’s patent portfolio by identifying inventions, prosecuting applications globally, and aligning IP strategy with the company’s open-source objectives.
What you'll do
- Identify patentable inventions and advise on trade secrets versus patent filings; draft invention memos and applications.
- Manage global patent prosecution, outside counsel, and internal IP processes and tracking tools.
- Support M&A IP due diligence and maintain the inventor recognition program.
What they ask for
- Experience drafting patents in complex software/AI domains and understanding US and European AI patent eligibility.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or other GenAI technologies, including explaining technical concepts such as model architectures or training methods.
