About the job

Conduct a five-month research project developing and evaluating EEG-based movement decoders for prosthetic and robotic control, from experiments through implementation.

What you'll do

  • Develop and evaluate models for transfer across subjects, sessions, and devices, including self-supervised pretraining and online decoding.
  • Design experiments, data-collection tasks, evaluation metrics, and benchmarks for EEG decoders.
  • Turn promising results into reproducible decoders in MorphLabs’ system and share findings with the hardware team.

What they ask for

  • Demonstrated research work, such as papers, reports, or code, with a clear account of individual contributions.
  • Experience building and training models on noisy time-series data and explaining model choices, debugging, and generalization.
  • Ability to conduct rigorous, reproducible experiments using fair baselines, ablations, and appropriate held-out test sets.
  • Practical use of probability, optimization, linear algebra, and uncertainty in modeling decisions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with biosignals, neural data, non-invasive BCIs, or human-subjects research.
  • Experience with real-time or closed-loop systems, self-supervised learning, or pretraining that transfers to downstream tasks.
