About the job

Leads the AV Behavior Understanding and Evaluation team, defining autonomous-driving behavior and acceptance criteria and validating system performance for safe, comfortable, and assertive driving.

What you'll do

  • Decompose ODD requirements into behaviors, interfaces, capabilities, and measurable targets; translate policy narratives into implementable requirements.
  • Define evaluation metrics and launch criteria, and plan testing using simulation, closed-course tracks, and on-road data.
  • Lead and grow an engineering team; collaborate across Autonomy, Infrastructure, and Operations to improve system performance.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in Systems Engineering, Autonomous Systems, or Robotics, with deep expertise in one and working knowledge of the others; or Master’s degree/PhD and 5+ years.
  • 3+ years leading and scaling data-driven evaluation programs for autonomous driving or safety-critical emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience decomposing ODD requirements into vehicle capabilities, driving behavior logic, and measurable acceptance criteria; using large-scale simulation, track, and road data to drive technical resolution.
  • Strong foundation in statistical methodology, Data Science, and scientific rigor; proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization techniques.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Autonomous Systems, or Robotics.
  • Familiarity with SOTIF, ISO 26262, UL4600, AVSC Behavior competencies, or Reinforcement Learning (RL).
