Supports spacecraft assembly, integration, and test operations by analyzing production processes and implementing improvements to efficiency, quality, throughput, and scalability.
What you'll do
- Analyze production processes and data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities; conduct time studies and process observations.
- Develop process documentation, capacity models, dashboards, and tools for production planning and performance visibility.
- Support lean and other process improvements, workflow optimization, root-cause investigations, and implementation on the production floor.
What they ask for
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and/or operations fundamentals, with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Excel or similar tools for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work hands-on in a production, laboratory, or engineering environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations, or production; continuous improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Experience with capacity analysis, production planning, analytics tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, CAD, or hardware-focused engineering projects.
Pay
$40/hour USD (Bachelor's students); $45/hour USD (Master's); $50/hour USD (PhD)
