About the job

Build and maintain system-identification models, calibration tools, and control software that improve the reliability and performance of autonomous production robots.

What you'll do

  • Design system-identification experiments and fit dynamic models to develop feedforward and feedback controllers.
  • Own kinematic calibration and automated calibration tooling for production robots.
  • Integrate perception, planning, and control into robot behaviors; improve autonomy and resolve production issues.

What they ask for

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building production robotics systems.
  • Strong foundation in dynamics, controls, and system identification, including regression, parameter estimation, modeling, and controller design.
  • Hands-on experience characterizing electromechanical systems; experience integrating software with sensors, actuators, and embedded systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of Rust, Python, or C++; willingness to support production operations through an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

  • Graduate-level coursework or research in system identification, optimal estimation, or adaptive control.
  • Experience with nonlinear system identification techniques.
