About the job

Defines and validates the mechanical design of AI inference hardware across accelerators, servers, and racks, from engineering configuration through production and deployment.

What you'll do

  • Own mechanical design, system configuration, server and rack integration, and serviceability.
  • Release drawings and BOMs; coordinate suppliers, manufacturing readiness, build issue resolution, and hardware validation.
  • Lead mechanical and thermal qualification, investigate failures, and coordinate safety, EMC, and environmental compliance.

What they ask for

  • Six or more years, or equivalent shipped work, owning accelerator or server hardware, including taking a design from prototype through qualification and production.
  • Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar, including FEA, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing.
  • Hands-on server or accelerator thermal design and validation, plus experience integrating server hardware into standard chassis and racks.
  • Electrical fluency to read schematics and experience directing external design or manufacturing partners.

Nice to have

  • Experience with liquid cooling or Open Compute Project and other open modular server and rack architectures.
  • Experience shipping hardware to external customers, translating industrial design concepts into production designs, or working with tooling, fixtures, and test setups.

Tools

SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Open Compute Project
