AI Research Manager - Machine Learning

What you'll do

• Lead and develop researchers, including performance, career growth, hiring, and retention.
• Manage a portfolio of concurrent research bets, including cadence, resource allocation, research rigor, and go/no-go decisions.
• Coordinate research strategy and production handoffs, and communicate technical progress and business impact to executives.

What they ask for

• 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading applied AI research or core machine-learning teams in big tech, frontier labs, or comparable high-scale environments.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven ability to build, scale, and retain high-performing research or advanced applied-science teams.

Nice to have

• Deep conceptual familiarity with at least one listed research area, such as foundation models, behavioral and sequential models, decisioning and optimization, or training and inference efficiency.
• Exceptional technical storytelling for senior and C-level audiences; experience with global, distributed teams and moving research into production is also valued.
