About the job

Defines and leads next-generation RTL2GDS physical design methodologies for advanced-node GPU, CPU, and SoC designs, improving PPA, scalability, and flow quality.

What you'll do

  • Partner with P&R engine developers to shape requirements and roadmaps, assess engine behavior, and provide feedback on quality of results and scalability.
  • Develop, modernize, and deploy scalable RTL2GDS flows; run comparative experiments and perform root-cause analysis of QoR issues.
  • Build Python-based analytics and apply ML/GenAI techniques to analyze QoR datasets, recommend flow settings, and automate analysis.

What they ask for

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of physical design experience and deep expertise with industry-standard tools such as ICC2/Innovus and PrimeTime/Tempus.
  • Hands-on P&R experience taking complex blocks or chips to tape-out with aggressive PPA targets.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, and TCL flow development.

Nice to have

  • Experience collaborating with EDA or internal R&D teams on core engine development, benchmarking, validation, and deployment.
  • Experience with advanced-node designs, large-scale regressions and QoR analysis, or applying AI/ML or GenAI to physical design or flow development.

Pay

168,000 USD - 264,500 USD base salary (Level 4); 196,000 USD - 310,500 USD base salary (Level 5)

Tools

ICC2, Innovus, PrimeTime, Tempus, Python, Perl, TCL, ML/GenAI

AI focus

Use ML/GenAI techniques to mine QoR datasets, recommend flow settings, and automate analysis; applying AI/ML or GenAI to physical design, QoR analysis, or flow development is also a plus.
