About the job
Build compiler and JIT systems that let developers write memory-safe, high-performance GPU kernels in Rust for NVIDIA GPUs.
What you'll do
- Develop Rust-to-GPU compiler pipelines, backends, and intermediate representations that generate CUDA PTX and machine code.
- Build compiler optimizations and tooling for ahead-of-time, just-in-time, and link-time workflows across NVIDIA GPUs and host platforms.
- Design Rust safety abstractions for GPU execution and implement ergonomic interfaces to low-level GPU hardware features.
What they ask for
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work or research experience in compiler development, language design, or GPU code generation.
- Deep expertise in Rust, including rustc, Rust MIR, procedural macros, and the borrow-checker/lifetime model.
- Experience with compiler infrastructures, IRs, code generation, parallel programming models, GPU architectures, and CUDA.
Nice to have
- Contributions to rustc, Cargo tooling, or open-source Rust-to-GPU projects; experience building compiler front-ends, AST translators, or JIT engines.
- Familiarity with MLIR, low-level GPU features, or DSLs and tile-based tensor programming abstractions.
