About the job
Design and implement high-performance, low-power CPUs, from microarchitecture definition and RTL through physical implementation and hardware engineering support.
What you'll do
- Define CPU subsystem microarchitecture, conduct feasibility studies, and document designs; implement RTL and coordinate functional verification.
- Optimize logic to meet performance, timing, and power targets, and deliver synthesis- and timing-clean designs with physical design teams.
- Support chip floor planning, power and clock distribution, assembly, timing closure, power and noise analysis, and back-end verification; develop supporting flows and tools.
What they ask for
- BS or MS in electrical engineering or computer engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of proven experience in microarchitecture and RTL development of complex, high-speed designs; CPU subsystem experience is described as ideal.
- Highly proficient in logic design, Verilog and/or SystemVerilog, with a deep understanding of physical design and VLSI.
- Strengths in scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
Nice to have
- Experience with CPU subsystems.
- Exposure to Computer Architecture and Digital Systems design.
