About the job

Develops AI and machine-learning systems for quantum hardware calibration, decoding, and fault-tolerant feedback, using physics-informed data, surrogate models, and GPU acceleration.

What you'll do

  • Research open AI models for quantum system calibration and build physics-informed synthetic-data pipelines and hardware surrogate models.
  • Design real-time systems that co-optimize calibration and decoding; apply reinforcement and online learning to calibration.
  • Develop GPU-accelerated implementations and collaborate with research, product, engineering, academic, and industry partners.

What they ask for

  • Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of combined experience and high impact in quantum systems and AI/ML research.
  • Hands-on expertise in machine learning and deep learning for science or physics, including architecture design, scaled training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
  • Strong background in quantum device physics and information science, including noise models, error mechanisms, and fault-tolerant systems; broad understanding of quantum control.

Nice to have

  • Ph.D. (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with learned calibration or decoding models in real-time feedback loops, reinforcement learning, physics-informed synthetic data, large-scale model training, or CUDA and NVIDIA GPU programming.
