About the job
Own and deliver a critical embedded subsystem for autonomous underwater vehicles, from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, bring up, and verify embedded software for an Embedded Linux, motor-control, or battery-management subsystem.
- Debug hardware/software integration and low-level timing, memory, and performance issues; support field testing, production, and failure analysis.
- Build automated testing and development workflows, mentor engineers, and use AI-assisted tools while independently validating their outputs.
What they ask for
- Deep practical expertise in Embedded Linux development or bare-metal/RTOS-based microcontroller development, plus proficiency in at least one low-level systems programming language.
- Experience developing deterministic or hard real-time systems and bringing up new boards or embedded platforms.
- Experience with schematics, hardware/software debugging tools, communication protocols, and low-level concepts such as concurrency, interrupts, DMA, and memory management.
- Ability to work independently across engineering disciplines and support field testing and sea trials when required.
Nice to have
- Experience with safety-critical or high-reliability products and taking embedded systems from initial design through production or operational deployment.
- Relevant domain experience, such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, automotive, industrial controls, or energy systems.
