Leads EHS strategy and execution across OpenAI’s robotics sites, building safety programs and managing risks as operations scale.
What you'll do
- Own site-level EHS strategy and programs, including risk assessments, training, inspections, emergency preparedness, and compliance.
- Lead field safety, incident investigations, corrective actions, and preventive risk reduction across sites and shifts.
- Partner with technical, operations, facilities, construction, and external teams to integrate safety into facility design and operations.

- 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, including significant leadership in robotics, advanced manufacturing, R&D, industrial, or similarly complex technical environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of occupational safety and health, including relevant areas such as machine safety, ergonomics, electrical safety, hazardous energy, material handling, hazardous materials, contractor safety, and incident investigation.
- Experience supporting complex sites through rapid scale, construction and operational overlap, commissioning, process change, or extended/24/7 operations.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA requirements.
