- Education
- MS or PhD in machine learning, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent research experience with a strong publication record.
About the job
Conduct research on social world models, vision-language-action systems, and embodied reasoning, and bring it from initial ideas to deployment on physical robots.
What you'll do
- Design data strategies and training and evaluation approaches using real-world deployment data.
- Build evaluations for socially intelligent behavior, using simulation benchmarks and real-world measurements.
- Publish research and collaborate with platform and deployment teams to deploy it on robots.
What they ask for
- MS or PhD in machine learning, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent research experience with a strong publication record.
- Deep expertise in at least one of: world models, VLA models, imitation or reinforcement learning, or multimodal foundation models.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in languages such as Python, Go, and/or C++; ability to train models and write production-quality research code.
- Bias toward research that can work in real-world settings.
Nice to have
- First-author publications at CoRL, RSS, ICRA, ICML, NeurIPS, or ICLR.
- Experience deploying learned policies on physical hardware; prior work at a frontier AI lab or leading robotics research group.
