- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
About the job
Own and build production agentic AI systems, including orchestration, retrieval, tool use, provenance, and evaluation, for Orbis’s Agent Catalog and OSINT Agent Harness.
What you'll do
- Architect and ship knowledge, tool-using, and goal-driven agents; own planning, memory, retries, failure handling, and termination behavior.
- Design end-to-end retrieval and provenance, and build evaluation infrastructure for accuracy, groundedness, explainability, latency, and cost.
- Integrate model providers and third-party tools, monitor quality and cost, productionize research results, and mentor engineers entering AI work.
What they ask for
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript programming skills, with substantial production code in at least one.
- Deep practical experience with retrieval-augmented generation, including embeddings, vector search, chunking, ranking, and failure modes.
- Demonstrated experience building and debugging multi-step, tool-using agents.
- Experience rigorously evaluating AI changes, including building evaluation harnesses.
Nice to have
- Experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, entity resolution, or information extraction; open-weight models in constrained or disconnected environments; or production observability and cost control for model-backed workloads.
- Familiarity with OSINT, intelligence, or research workflows; mentoring engineers into AI; or open-source contributions, publications, or academic collaboration in applied AI.
Tools
Python, TypeScript, LLM-backed systems, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search
