About the job

Defines architecture and technical direction for Catalyst, a secure distributed data platform, and leads the reliability and evolution of its data movement and infrastructure systems.

What you'll do

  • Design and evolve distributed data-plane architecture, including event streaming, queuing, state management, and data movement.
  • Lead reliability practices, incident response, CI/CD, security and dependency management, and infrastructure operations.
  • Set engineering standards and technical direction, guide team collaboration, and define how AI-assisted tools support the workflow.

What they ask for

  • Deep hands-on Go experience building high-throughput, concurrent systems.
  • Experience with message queues or streaming systems, distributed state machines, idempotency, and failure recovery.
  • Experience with gRPC/protobuf service boundaries, schema versioning, and distributed-component session management.
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of setting technical direction across platform or infrastructure areas.

Nice to have

  • Experience with embedded streaming or data infrastructure, independently versioned protobuf codebases, or regulated/high-reliability systems.
  • National security, intelligence, or defense experience; active Secret-or-higher clearance, with Top Secret preferred.

Tools

Golang, Python, NATS/JetStream, Kafka, gRPC, protobuf, Datadog, Kubernetes

AI focus

Define how AI-assisted tooling fits into the team's workflow to accelerate development and increase knowledge.
