Leads Orbis’s engineering organization, scaling its workforce, leadership, culture, and delivery practices while working with the CTO to turn technical vision into reliable engineering delivery.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop engineering directors and managers; build hiring plans and scale the workforce.
- Establish delivery metrics, operating practices, and engineering standards while balancing roadmap, technical debt, and capacity.
- Work with the CTO to consolidate tools and platforms and ensure security, quality, and reliability across products and deployments.

- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering organizations through other managers and at least 3 years at director level or above.
- Engineering leadership experience at a small or early-stage company, plus success scaling an organization and its hiring processes through rapid growth.
- Experience leading a fully remote engineering organization across multiple time zones.
- Hands-on modern software delivery background, including production experience with at least one of Rust, Go, or TypeScript and one of AWS, GCP, or Cloudflare; bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and ability to travel up to 25%.
