About the job
Leads the technical direction and hands-on development of robotic sensing tooling, physical interfaces, and training tasks for manipulation products, from concept through deployment.
What you'll do
- Own the roadmap and architecture for sensing end-of-arm tooling, physical interfaces, and model-training task design; set engineering standards and manage technical risks.
- Design and release sensor-integrated tooling and define mechanical, electrical, and data interfaces across robots, tools, sensors, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Lead hardware lifecycle execution, task and data-collection design with ML partners, cross-functional alignment, mentoring, supplier work, and field-driven improvements.
What they ask for
- 7+ years in robotics, automation, or industrial hardware development, with systems deployed in the real world.
- Track record leading technical direction of a hardware product or subsystem from concept through deployment.
- Deep experience designing end-of-arm tooling, grippers, or sensor-integrated robotic payloads; strong understanding of mechanical design’s effects on sensor calibration and performance.
- Experience defining electromechanical interfaces; proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD with PDM-based release workflows.
