- Build or extend custom solvers and validate models against experimental measurements.
- Create evaluation and simulated datasets to support LLM training and machine-learning systems.
What they ask for
- Hands-on computational mechanics at code level, such as writing or substantially modifying FEM codes, implementing constitutive models, or developing custom solvers.
- Strong foundation in solid mechanics and heat transfer, including continuum mechanics, constitutive modeling, and numerical methods for PDEs.
- Strong Python skills and experience running simulations programmatically at scale.
- PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant field; the posting also states a minimum education of a Bachelor's degree or similar experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with open-source simulation frameworks such as FEniCS, deal.II, or MOOSE.
- C++, Julia, or Fortran proficiency; experience with GPU-accelerated FEM, reduced-order models, surrogate models, or physics-informed neural networks.
