Education
A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field is strongly preferred; candidates with an MS and an exceptional research record will also be considered.

About the job

Research and develop methods to detect identity fraud, manipulated documents, and AI-generated images, then partner with ML and engineering teams to deploy effective defenses.

What you'll do

  • Lead focused research experiments on identity verification and fraud prevention, including analysis of fraud patterns and model performance across populations.
  • Develop and evaluate methods for detecting manipulated documents, AI-generated images, and emerging fraud attacks; calibrate confidence and measure fraud with limited labeled data.
  • Partner with ML and engineering teams to productionize research and publish findings.

What they ask for

  • Deep expertise in at least one of computer vision, mathematics and statistics, or identity verification and fraud prevention.
  • Demonstrated record of substantive contributions to peer-reviewed publications in relevant conferences or journals.
  • Ability to independently lead research, design rigorous experiments, and use findings to guide next steps.
  • Clear communication of experimental design, findings, and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • Research on deepfakes, presentation attacks, or adversarial robustness; experience with noisy, imbalanced real-world data.
  • Experience shipping ML research to production.
