About the job

Defines and leads cross-generation hardware/software architecture for Positron’s AI accelerator platforms, from interface specifications through prototypes and system integration.

What you'll do

  • Specify stable, versioned interfaces across silicon, firmware, operating systems, runtimes, simulation, security, and host/device interaction.
  • Integrate platform components, lead architecture reviews, document decisions, and drive cross-team issues to closure.
  • Prototype high-risk interfaces, mentor senior engineers, and partner on security and performance architecture.

What they ask for

  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, memory systems, concurrency, device I/O, hardware/software interfaces, and system bring-up.
  • Strong C or C++ skills.
  • Architecture-level ownership and ability to influence multiple engineering teams without reporting authority.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous goals into precise interfaces, milestones, and testable system behavior.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, networking or storage ASICs, or other high-performance devices.
  • Experience spanning pre-silicon models, emulation, first silicon, and production software; familiarity with trusted boot, model protection, distributed inference, KV-cache systems, or performance modeling.
