About the job
Own mechanical, thermal-mechanical, and enclosure design for AI inference hardware, driving systems from concept through volume production with manufacturing partners.
What you'll do
- Design enclosures, chassis, and rack-level packaging, including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and tolerance analyses.
- Lead thermal and structural design, simulations, and validation for high-power systems, including cooling, shock, and vibration.
- Manage supplier and contract-manufacturer engagement, DFM/DFA, cost reduction, fixtures, packaging, and manufacturing readiness.
What they ask for
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years designing electromechanical and enclosure hardware for high-performance electronic systems across the NPI lifecycle.
- Expertise in 3D CAD (SolidWorks and/or Creo), detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and structural/thermal simulation.
- Experience with rack-mount or high-density electronic packaging, and managing custom-part suppliers and contract manufacturers through EVT/DVT/pilot phases.
- Demonstrated application of DFM/DFA and FMEA in high-volume or high-complexity production environments.
Nice to have
- Mechanical or thermal design experience for AI/ML accelerators, servers, or other high-power data center hardware.
