About the job

Build and operate secure, reliable video-ingestion integrations that connect cameras and video management systems to Protent’s dashboard and real-time AI pipeline.

What you'll do

  • Integrate live and recorded video from cameras, NVRs/encoders, and major VMS platforms.
  • Own and scale the MediaMTX and FFmpeg pipeline, including ingest, transcoding, multiplexing, and stream routing.
  • Design low-latency, fault-tolerant, secure video connections while reducing bandwidth and cloud-compute costs.

What they ask for

  • Strong hands-on experience with FFmpeg and MediaMTX or equivalent streaming pipelines.
  • Strong experience with video streaming protocols, including RTSP, ONVIF, RTP/SRTP, WebRTC, or HLS.
  • Hands-on integration with IP cameras, NVRs/encoders, and at least one major VMS.
  • Networking fundamentals and backend proficiency in Go and/or Python, plus cloud infrastructure experience.

Nice to have

  • Security, government, or regulated-environment experience; CJIS familiarity is a plus.
  • Video at scale (hundreds+ of concurrent streams) or edge/on-device software experience.
