What you'll do
- Translate device- and architecture-level models into quantitative estimates for representative quantum workloads.
- Analyze how hardware constraints and error models affect end-to-end computational performance.
- Collaborate with hardware theory, experimental, and application development teams on design decisions and benchmarking.
What they ask for
- Strong background in quantum information science, computational physics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Proficiency in numerical modeling and data analysis using Python or Julia.
- Ability to analyze experimental or simulated data and correlate results with abstracted models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience with benchmarking or performance modeling in quantum computing platforms.
- Experience with abstracted error and performance models, federally funded research programs, or related technical publications.
