What you'll do

  • Design and build file-system and block-layer components in C and Rust.
  • Take designs from initial concept through implementation and release; debug across protocols, file systems, caches, networks, and object stores.
  • Use AI coding agents while retaining engineering judgment, and investigate correctness issues and root causes.

What they ask for

  • 6+ years building systems software, including work on a file system, kernel, database engine, compiler, driver, or distributed data path.
  • Writes C, C++, or Rust by choice.
  • Experience working inside a distributed system, including concurrency, consistency, failure, and recovery.
  • Uses AI coding tools every day and can describe complex work enabled by them, including where the tools break down.

Nice to have

  • Experience with distributed file systems, NFS, SMB, or S3, or platforms such as NetApp, PowerScale, Isilon, VAST, WEKA, Ceph, or Lustre.
  • Experience with indexing, query, or search internals; a public open-source contribution, write-up, or project.

Pay

USD $200,000 - $300,000 (base salary)

Tools

AI focus
