Backend Engineer, AI

What you'll do

• Build and scale backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Design and ship AI-powered features, agents, and automation.
• Build shared AI infrastructure, including tool interfaces, evaluation frameworks, and permission-aware data access.

What they ask for

• Experience with Node.js and other backend technologies.
• 1–3+ years building production systems using LLMs, tool calling, structured outputs, prompt architecture, and retrieval patterns.
• Builder mentality, including experimenting with side projects.
• Comfort taking loosely defined problems, making decisions, and shipping.

Nice to have

• Eval framework design.
• Fintech experience, especially neobank or card issuing; experience building internal tools or platform systems at a growth-stage company.
