About the job

Designs and develops robotic mechanical subsystems from concept through prototyping, testing, integration, and production-ready hardware.

What you'll do

  • Own subsystems through prototype, testing, iteration, and production; select materials, set tolerances, and design for manufacturability.
  • Create parts, assemblies, and mechanisms in CAD; build and test prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and shop tools.
  • Integrate motors, sensors, electronics, and actuators into robotic arms and mobile bases, collaborating with the hardware team.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-physical-prototype work in robotics or other hardware products.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or an equivalent.
  • Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, and shop tools; strong judgment around materials, tolerances, manufacturing, and mechanical integration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with FEA or topology optimization.
  • Experience designing for robotic arms, mobile bases, or electromechanical systems, or moving hardware from prototype to production.

Pay

$150K to $250K (base salary)
