About the job

Leads the technical direction and hands-on development of production perception software that combines sensor data to help unmanned platforms understand and navigate their surroundings.

What you'll do

  • Set architecture and long-term direction for perception, including sensor fusion, positioning, object tracking, and environment modeling.
  • Solve complex sensor-fusion challenges and turn research into production software for constrained, rugged platforms.
  • Guide and mentor engineers, collaborate with autonomy and machine-learning teams, and shape data and performance practices.

What they ask for

  • At least 8 years shipping perception software for unmanned vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or defense systems.
  • Direct ownership of production-grade perception, localization, or estimation work.
  • Expertise in multi-sensor fusion, probabilistic methods, uncertainty handling, and relevant applied mathematics and algorithms.
  • Staff-level-or-higher experience guiding architecture and technical strategy for complex autonomous products; US Person status and ability to work hybrid, 3 days per week in the office.

Nice to have

  • Experience deploying model inference on resource-limited hardware with strict timing needs.
  • Master's degree or PhD; marine autonomy or mixed radar, camera, and infrared sensor experience is also a plus.
