About the job

Owns Render’s observability vision and roadmap across systems telemetry, AI agent and LLM workloads, and cost and usage visibility.

What you'll do

  • Set observability strategy and prioritize foundational telemetry and product investments.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams on telemetry architecture, including signal fidelity, query performance, and cost at scale.
  • Define how observability supports AI-native builders, including agent traces, token spend, model routing, and cost attribution.

What they ask for

  • 7+ years in Product Management, with substantive experience in observability, monitoring, developer tools, or infrastructure products.
  • Working fluency with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, including signals, semantic conventions, collectors, and production instrumentation tradeoffs.
  • Familiarity with AI workload economics, including token pricing, model selection tradeoffs, and LLM spend budgeting and attribution.
  • Deep developer empathy and technical depth to make architectural tradeoffs with Engineering; track record of turning ambiguous cross-cutting problems into shipped outcomes; strong communication and storytelling skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience as an SRE, observability engineer, or infrastructure engineer; hands-on experience building or instrumenting and evaluating AI agents in production.
  • Contributions to OpenTelemetry or adjacent open-source telemetry projects; experience with an LLM gateway, proxy, or metering product.

Pay

$218K – $300K (base salary)
