Machine Learning Software Engineer Intern - Winter 2027

What you'll do

• Formulate product needs as mathematical models, train them, and ship them to production with a small team.
• Help design machine learning pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, training, and evaluation; collaborate with data engineers on datasets.
• Follow ML research and apply relevant findings to Rippling products.

What they ask for

• Currently enrolled in an M.Sc. or Ph.D. program in computer science or a related field during the internship.
• Solid programming skills, emphasizing backend experience and knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for learning and developing machine learning and software engineering skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications that use large language models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with pre-training and fine-tuning techniques.

AI focus

Train and deploy machine learning models; develop scalable ML pipelines; apply ML research to products. LLM development experience and familiarity with pre-training and fine-tuning are preferred.
