Senior Software Engineer, Observability

What you'll do

• Set the observability roadmap for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting; own and evolve the control plane and telemetry pipelines.
• Lead and collaborate with six engineers to deliver scalable, self-service observability solutions and manage telemetry costs.
• Establish SLOs targeting at least 99.9% uptime and partner on dependency mapping, incident response, and observability standards.

What they ask for

• Proven track record owning and delivering large-scale observability or infrastructure platform initiatives.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and public cloud environments; AWS preferred.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or a similar language, including integrating observability instrumentation into production codebases.
• Experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline, including ingestion cost management, cardinality control, and signal routing, in a high-traffic production environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vector or equivalent high-throughput log/metrics routing tools.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, Humio, or Sentry.

Pay

$196,000 — $230,000 USD (base salary); $172,000 — $202,000 USD (base salary); $153,000 — $179,000 USD (base salary)
