- No number of years specified; PhD or equivalent research experience.
- Education
- PhD or equivalent research experience in computer vision, multi-modal learning, machine learning, or a closely related field.
About the job
Conduct applied research that identifies model weaknesses on real-world tasks, develops benchmarks and data specifications, and validates that datasets improve model performance.
What you'll do
- Design datasets, evaluations, and RL environments for frontier models; analyze model failures and specify data to address them.
- Develop and publish benchmarks, and empirically validate data quality through fine-tuning, ablations, and measurement.
- Contribute to Roboflow’s open models and collaborate with frontier-lab researchers on data programs.
What they ask for
- PhD or equivalent research experience in computer vision, multi-modal learning, machine learning, or a closely related field, with published work or shipped research.
- Hands-on post-training experience, such as fine-tuning, RL, evaluation design, or data curation for large models.
- Strong engineering fundamentals; able to code experiments and hand them off for productionization.
- Clear written communication.
Nice to have
- Experience at a frontier lab or as a data/evaluation partner to one.
- Experience with vision-language models, robotics learning, or agentic coding evaluations.
