Experience
10+ years; must include at least one shipped consumer product with end-to-end firmware architecture ownership.

About the job

Architect and lead firmware for Sabi’s multi-MCU wearable platform, coordinating real-time sensing, media, connectivity, power management, and production readiness.

What you'll do

  • Design platform firmware architecture, including RTOS, inter-processor protocols, time synchronization, and OTA updates.
  • Own runtime, media and connectivity pipelines, low-power controls, hardware bring-up, and firmware engineering practices.
  • Lead firmware delivery with external engineering teams and build the firmware team as the product scales.

What they ask for

  • 10+ years of embedded firmware engineering and ownership of firmware architecture end-to-end for at least one shipped consumer product.
  • Expertise in embedded RTOSes and bare-metal ARM Cortex-M, with familiarity across at least two ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience hosting real-time DSP runtimes alongside wireless connectivity on resource-constrained MCUs.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi and BLE coexistence, low-power state machines, safe-rollback OTA, and lab bring-up tools.

Nice to have

  • Deploying neural-network inference to low-power MCUs or AI accelerators, including model conversion, quantization, and runtime integration.
  • Experience with on-device inference or edge AI runtimes, AI accelerator silicon, wake-word engines, or biopotential acquisition.

Pay

$300K – $400K (USD, base salary); bonus amount not stated

Tools

ARM Cortex-M, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ESP-IDF, ThreadX, NuttX, JTAG/SWD

AI focus

The wearable uses a Brain Foundation Model to decode neural signals. Preferred experience includes deploying neural-network inference to low-power MCUs or AI accelerators and integrating edge AI runtimes.
