Experience
10+ years; must include at least one shipped product with end-to-end ownership of a sensing system.

About the job

Leads the architecture, development, and delivery of the wearable’s non-EEG sensor system, with a primary focus on optical PPG and motion-robust heart-rate and HRV sensing.

What you'll do

  • Own sensor architecture, selection, front-end design, algorithms, calibration, characterization, and sensor fusion.
  • Coordinate sensor interfaces and development with electrical, firmware, product design, AI/ML, reliability teams, and contract manufacturers.
  • Lead technical reviews and documentation, build and lead the sensing team, and deliver the product by year-end.

What they ask for

  • 10+ years in sensor or hardware development for consumer wearables, including ownership of at least one shipped sensing system end-to-end.
  • Deep optical PPG expertise, including front-end design and motion-robust heart-rate and HRV algorithms validated in real-world wearable conditions.
  • Strong analog front-end design background, including noise, signal integrity, and low-power sensing systems.
  • Wearable sensor integration experience, sensor selection and benchmarking, calibration, characterization, data analysis, and BOM ownership including second-source strategy.

Nice to have

  • Inertial-sensing algorithms, additional health sensors, body-temperature sensing, or multimodal sensor fusion.
  • Human physiology or biomechanics, biocompatible skin-contact interfaces, ultra-low-power sensing, or early-stage consumer hardware leadership.

Tools

PPG, SpO₂, accelerometer, gyroscope, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, EEG/BCI

AI focus

Define sensor fusion that produces reliable signals for the AI assistant and partner with the AI/ML lead on learned models.
