About the job

Develop, deploy, and improve autonomous surface vessel software in real-world maritime environments, working with operators and engineering teams to support mission needs.

What you'll do

  • Develop and refine autonomy, networking, and mission-execution software; analyze mission data to improve system performance.
  • Deploy and test vessel software, troubleshoot issues, and integrate and validate features across software, sensors, and vessel hardware.
  • Work with end-users and cross-functional teams to adapt systems to operational requirements and document deployment practices.

What they ask for

  • Strong software engineering skills in C++, Rust, Python, or similar languages.
  • Background in robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems, particularly in maritime, aerospace, or defense applications.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and distributed systems, including TCP/IP, UDP, and message-passing frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for field testing and improvement of ASV systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with real-world robotic autonomy, sensors, motion planning, behavior trees, control algorithms, or field integration and deployment.
  • Background in maritime systems, naval operations, or defense technology; knowledge of distributed autonomy architectures and multi-agent coordination.

Tools

C++, Rust, Python, TCP/IP, UDP

AI focus
