About the job
Build and operate a unified software verification platform for autonomous vessels, spanning software tests, simulation, virtual machines, and physical hardware-in-the-loop testing.
What you'll do
- Own test strategy and infrastructure, including HITL stations, VM integration tests, and test orchestration.
- Develop property-based, fuzz, simulation, replay, and fault-injection testing capabilities for safety-critical software.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to identify system risks, diagnose defects, and validate vessel software before deployment.

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience for the Senior Engineer level, including substantial ownership of test infrastructure, V&V strategy, or reliability engineering; or 8+ years of equivalent experience for the Staff Engineer level, including architecture ownership and cross-functional technical leadership.
- Strong software development skills in Rust and/or C++, with Python proficiency.
- Hands-on experience building and operating at least one of: HITL infrastructure, fuzz-testing infrastructure, property-based testing suites, deterministic simulation frameworks, or large-scale simulation, replay, or scenario-testing pipelines.
- Experience treating test infrastructure as production software, plus strong systems intuition, debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with deterministic simulation testing or fuzz-testing infrastructure.
- Familiarity with proptest or quickcheck, NixOS testing, robotics middleware, embedded systems, CI at scale, or safety-critical environments.
