Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform

What you'll do

• Architect, implement, and improve foundational data platforms in collaboration with stakeholders and internal customers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define and deliver features, and improve engineering practices and tools.
• Provide technical leadership by setting engineering standards, mentoring junior engineers, and advising teams and stakeholders.

What they ask for

• 8+ years of full-time engineering experience post-graduation, specializing in back-end systems and large-scale data storage, streaming, and warehousing.
• Extensive experience with database, streaming/processing, indexing/caching, and data-query technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes, public cloud offerings, software development, and distributed, cloud, and data systems.
• Track record of mentoring and leading successful projects, strong communication and collaboration skills, and experience driving cross-functional work at an organizational or broader level.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI.
• Experience with cloud data-platform performance tuning and cost optimization, data lifecycle and privacy tooling, or scaling products at hyper-growth startups.

Pay

$252,000 — $315,000 USD base salary
